27J Schools is throwing the doors open to celebrate the completion of its three new high school STEM and Career and Technical Education centers – the centerpieces of a grand new vision to provide the latest in STEM education and career-training opportunities to students.
Community members are invited to be part of the celebration.
“The construction and completion of these centers is a testament to our community’s strong belief in providing students multiple pathways to success,” said Dr. Chris Fiedler. “They exhibited this belief through their support of the 2021 Bond that made these new centers possible and doubled down with their support of the 2022 Mill Levy Override funding proposal that allowed us to add the necessary staffing and programming to make them successful.”
The new STEM and CTE Centers will add more than 100,000 square feet of learning and lab space across the three existing campuses. A planned fourth district high school will have a similar center. The centers will allow each school expand opportunities in existing successfull programming and also offer new learning opportunities, especially training for in-demand careers.
Brighton High School – 55,000-square-foot addition with renovations to existing CTE space. New center will include a construction lab, engineering lab, culinary lab, certified nursing assistant/phlebotomy/EKG, biomed, sports medicine/personal training, small engine, welding, information technology and audio visual production space.
Prairie View High School – 47,500-square-foot center that offers space for programs in construction, sports medicine and personal training, certified nursing assistant/phlebotomy/EKG, biomed, culinary lab, small engine, information technology, photography, graphic design and and audio/visual production space.
Riverdale Ridge High School – 47,910-square foot center, which includes culinary lab, biomed, sports medicine and personal training, small engine, computer science and information technology, arts programs for graphic design and audio/visual production space, certified nursing assistant/phlebotomy/EKG and welding.
